I was pleased to be asked to judge at the Callander World Highland Games Companion Dog Show on Saturday 26 July 2008. Once again God was good to Callander and blessed us all with a perfect weekend for the show and the games.
The entries were unbelievable and took a bit longer than expected. However, there was Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Bronze testing going on at the same time and Heelwork to Music displays provided entertainment. Hopefully everyone enjoyed their day, and hearing the clapping and laughing in the background made it all worthwhile; I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Mums, Dads, Grans and Granddads all out for a good day with the children and their beloved pets. Whether it was the breed classes or the novelty classes, everyone came with the best dog and went home with the best dog, as they are all special.
I awarded Best In Show to a young Golden Retriever, who caught my eye from the moment it came into the ring, full of quality and certainly will have a good future ahead.
Reserve Best In Show was awarded to a Cocker Spaniel. Again, another lovely dog and it was a hard decision in the final line-up.
